Global sports agency IMG has announced its representation of Skate Canada, the country’s governing body for figure skating.
The partnership will see IMG secure commercial alliances and corporate marketing opportunities for the organisation in order to help promote the sport in the North American nation.
Neither the financial terms nor the duration of the contract have been released.
“Developing new business relationships is critical for the success of Skate Canada’s programmes, events and overall brand,” said Debra Armstrong, chief executive of Skate Canada. “We are thrilled to be teaming up with IMG. As a worldwide marketing leader in evolving effective partnerships, we are confident their strategic vision will advance Skate Canada’s profile.
“We look forward to leveraging their knowledge in developing new partnerships that will raise our national brand and inspire more Canadians to embrace the joy of skating.”
Skate Canada is one of Canada’s most successful governing bodies. Its athletes have won 25 Olympic medals and 35 world championship titles to date.
