Australian Rugby Union to partner with SOS Hydration

SOS Hydration will become the official hydration partner of the Australian national rugby union team after agreeing a partnership with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU).

From 2017, the sports hydration company will also work closely with the both the men’s and women’s national sevens sides in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The agreement will cover the various squads’ training, travel, and matchday hydration requirements, using research developed in SOS’s Melbourne-based ‘Sweat Lab’.

“SOS provides a crucial element of the team’s hydration strategy,” said ARU’s head of physical performance, Haydn Masters.

“The medical grade formulation maximises hydration both in the training environment and for our extensive air travel requirements, combatting the negative effects of long term exposure to the poor cabin environment well before we arrive.”

SOS Hydration’s managing director, Andrew Shaw, added, “This is more than a business partnership for us, it’s a personal one. My involvement with SOS grew from the incredible benefits I experience while using it, so to be able to bring that to a sport and a team that I love is the beginning of what is very much a passion-project for all of us here at SOS.”
